Table Lamp Solid Patinated

Table Lamp Solid Patinated

Elegant patinated bronze lamp with a sober design all in black patinated bronze The model has a round base with a solid bronze cast foot, topped with a large shade. Note the superb black patina finish of the bronze, obtained by hot oxidation of the bronze which is tinted and then waxed, offering unalterable protection and a warm, natural colour. Augustin Grant has been creating lighting fixtures in its Normandy workshops since 1981, and has been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label, a distinction granted by the French government that recognises French companies with exceptional craft and industrial production. The light is delivered with the lampshade proposed on this picture, that has been creating bronze lighting and accessories since 1991. Dimensions: 56cm high overall, 24cm high shade, 28cm diameter at the base and 16cm diameter at the head. The light source is an E27E26 bulb of 100W max, or LED equivalent, to be purchased separately.

Illuminated bar Coffee table

Illuminated bar Coffee table

Italian coffee table circa 1970 by Cesare Augusto Nava. Nava's training was forged by the great architect Gio Ponti Thanks to him his creations were defined and cared for in every detail. His research of spaces and geometric balances make each of his designs a small masterpiece of aesthetic elegance and modernity at the same time. The coffee table in the Design collection is composed of 4 checkerboard squares that open thanks to a mechanism. The checkerboard has two dominant colors, white and blue. Once opened the table becomes luminous. Signed NAVA.  Architettura damedamenti Height: 40 cm Width: 115 cm Depth: 115 cm

Cut and Shut Rope Chair

Cut and Shut Rope Chair

For centuries designers have tried to create the illusion of furniture made from rope, either by twisting solid steel bars together, or carving the rope’s form into solid wood. The effect was realistic but the material no more expressive than the solid from which the pieces were made. Exploiting the flexibility of steel rope, the Cut and Shut Rope chair is first formed into a complex Celtic knot which is then “frozen” by infusing the fibres with an alloy. Made of this new material, the final form is polished to give a lustrous texture not unlike antique silver. The process was developed with James Garner, Tom Dixon’s prototype maker, the chair designed under the guidance of Liliane Fawcett, Dixon’s gallerist. It is now available though Tanguy Rolin.
